http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...9/631282_4.jpg ...a pic of them closed...looks kinda cheap

Severen 06-26-2004 03:37 AM

yeah i went to the dealership today to check out a tc and those covers are def. cheap.
Kinda like a vinyl sheet that covers up the windows. Pretty lame but im still buyin the car.

CU_rob 06-26-2004 03:58 AM

Ahh, those dual solar panels are too sweet to keep shaded all the time anyway.

p.s. Severen, what dealer you going to buy from?

Severen 06-26-2004 04:01 AM

^^^Scion of Wilmington here in ol'NC

Kaeon 06-26-2004 04:21 AM

Answer me this? Would you rather a regular solid covered sunroof or the tc roof?

Severen 06-26-2004 04:28 AM

dont get me wrong i love the tC roof, but some better covers would've been nice, but i know for the price i cant expect to have everything, i just hope when i test drive it that i dont have light shining in through the covers, thats my only concern

BuckeyeCase 06-26-2004 04:40 AM

The tC roof def. For me I have no reason to keep them closed anyways. If you're down in Fla it might be a different story of course.

Kaeon 06-26-2004 04:44 AM

They are kinda of limited on what they can do being they cant use a hard cover that slides back because that would defeat the purpose of the back sunroof....

It would have been quite difficult to design a hard cover that could retract on the inside... it would move into the space of the glass panel behind it...

I don't think the tops are cheap... they're just not hard.

Just cause something's not hard, doesn't mean it's cheap.

That stereo cover? Yeah that felt a little cheap.

I did not think the sunroof covers felt that cheap. I liked them. I dont think you could do a solid cover with a tC roof. And I dont want to lose the tC's roof.

If they did some kind of multi folding panels or something it would work, but I don't expect them to go into that kind of complexity on this car. A future Lexus with dual panels perhaps.

BTW, The Mini has the same type roof and I believe the C230 does as well, I wonder how theirs are

Trdkamuri510 06-28-2004 05:49 PM

yes they COULD do a multipull out similar to the older eclipse's. it wouldnt be that much more difficult to make either.

Kaeon 06-28-2004 05:52 PM

Oh but they didnt so oh well

My dealer said the Benz panaromic sun roof had the same pull shade type system when I asked him about it... I'm not sure if he's correct or not.
