question about selling
I'm not really interested in selling my car (unless i got a really impressive offer of course) but i was just kinda curious as to how much people would pay for it if i was.
It's a 07' tC with 3200 miles. It's the model with the front and side airbags. I had the scion alarm installed and my mom paid for that protective coat they put on the exterior and interior. I bought mud guards, the 2 in 1 mats, and the TRD oil cap and radiator cap.
I also bought the 75,000 mile warranty and maintenance coverages. Everything is in tip top shape. Oh, and its the 5sp manual. Heh, after that, it sounds like an ad. But yeah, im just curious.

i say just like 3 or 4 thousand maybe less then what you paid for it. As long as its stock, the price stays higher, if you modded any exteior or performance then it lowers. You know, you can go to the dealer to get it praised i think for free. But yea i say 15 or so. maybe more! give or take a few. At least in Miami you will.
Well really i would say the same thing WoLF said...3-4 K less than new...as sad as it is the oil cap, rad cap, mud flaps and floor mats really don't increase the value. The alarm would add maybe 50% of the original cost to the resale value which is approx. $200 or so I would assume. The Maintance/Warranty can increase the value as long as it's transferrable to a new owner. I was told by a dealership that the protective coat does nothing for the value and they will try to sell a "new" coating to the next person that buys that car.
Sorry but it's the honest truth.

also your mom got conned big time paying for interior exterior coating. the exterior coating is called paint, the interior. well, that is a complete and total lie, so that adds no value to your car.
I think it really depends on where you live, i got the exterior coating and it really makes a different around here.... I got my tc almost the same time as a buddy of mine, and i got the sealant and he didnt. We have the same amount of miles, and he has chips and scratches all over his paint already, when i dont have a thing.
there was a kit that they use on the car, and the tc is a smaller car so i have the rest of the kit that they didnt use, and they said when you are ready to sell it, we will spray again and if you trade with us IT DOES increase the resale, not by much, but it does increase from the dealer...
