RIP: 2005 Super White Scion tC
15 Attachment(s)
Well, as most you already know, I haven't been on this forum very long, but the tC hit a deer a couple days back.
Sister was driving and hit a deer at around 7:00 at night. As most of you know, that's pretty dark for this time of the year. This wasn't nor do I say that it was my car, so please don't talk trash. None the less, the frame doesn't appear bent, but the oil pan leaked out quite a bit of oil, but the car had been turned off immediately after the incident. Car ran well before. The radiator support and such were pushed pretty far back, but the car still runs. We're hoping it gets totaled or they give us like $5000 and we just part out the rest of the car. As for the next car, me and my dad found a replacement in a matter of hours. We bought an 03 BMW 325i w/ in about 20 hours of everything. Pictures of the replacement car and the the Scion are below. I will more than likely be parting everything out so just keep that in the back of your mind. Any comments/ concerns/ suggestions are welcome: Attachment 48426 Attachment 48427 Attachment 48428 Attachment 48429 Attachment 48430 Attachment 48431 Attachment 48432 Attachment 48433 BMW 325i w/ 155K Miles! Much more comfortable and reliable, in a way. Not saying Scion is bad, but Scion really is Toyota w/ a few adjustments and some pretty cheap material. Nothing really drives like a BMW, but the Scion did have fewer miles and was 2 Years newer. |
The styrofoam bumper seemed to survive! lol
FYI, you're comparing a much more high-end car to the tC. That's like comparing a Bentley to your beamer. |
Sucks about the wreck, glad everyone is alright.
BMW is missing a pedal but otherwise it is a proper sedan. Just pray it never needs parts. My 4.4L X5 set me back $600 before the $150 core was taken off for an alternator. That was with me doing the repair. Now it's my work truck and it's been damn reliable but I came accustomed to cheap parts for the Japanese imports. Still have the scion for errands and the fact it ISN'T an awd V8 suv makes it much better on fuel but the X5 makes for a better handling vehicle. I blame it on 49.7/50 weight distribution. |
did you make sure to finish the deer? but yeah, an e46, nice, the other plus for having a BMW is there is a lot of aftermarket support for them.
A good place to start shopping if/when you start modding it is modbargains.com and bavauto.com |

I call dibs on that spoiler if you part it lol. That sucks but at least you got a cleam bmw out of it. I can't believe the airbags didn't go off with all that damage.
edit: and that stubby antenna lol |
I would've eaten the deer for revenge.

I hope to have the car back by early next week and will start parting everything out. PM the right offer and I'll sell you just the harness, but for now, I really want to keep the tail-lights and the harness together. Do you know if the 08-10 use the same harness? |
I'm using my 08 harness on my anzo tails rite now but the only thing is I don't have a reverse light cause the socket doesn't sit properly and is not long enough to reach it with out me really pulling on it. But that's the only difference in the harnesses I believe. PM what you would think would b a good price and I'll go from there cause I'm not trying to low ball u plus u said u kind of want to keep them together

I honestly have NO idea how much to offer. Just PM me what you want for them. I JUST got into the scion game so I have no clue what any of it goes for.
