Scion Dealer or Toyota Dealer for service?
Is there any difference in having service done at a Scion dealer or Toyota dealership?. I would assume that the Toyota dealership repairmen are not specifically trained on the Scion. The Toyota dealer is 7 miles away but the Scion Dealer is 60 miles away. I have an 05 Scion Tc with the check engine light on and was told at a local parts chain the it was the evaporative system code. Any thoughts on choice of dealers for repairs? Thanks.

The dealership doesn't really matter whether or not it is Toyota or Scion. They are both trained well to work on your own personal vehicle, and trust it wouldn't matter if you took even something like a Ram pick-truck to them they have the knowledge to fix it. Under the hood, under all of the bodywork, inside the dash, you'll find nothing but Toyota, Denso, and not much chance of a "Scion" part. Long story short; your car is a nothing but a Toyota. There are no such things as Scion scan tools, it's all Toyota. Long winded but I hope it helps you out. Save the time and money and just go to the Toyota dealership, and save the time and gas.
