Scion tC 07 engine into an 06 tC

Hey everybody, I'm new to this whole thing. Looking for some advice. I bought a used 07 tC engine to put in my 06. Couple questions.1.will it fit perfectly without any prefabricated parts?? 2. I want a CAI do I need an 07 or 06 model?? Thanks in advance.

This is normally stuff to research before you but the motor.

I did somewhat,I looked up some information and asked around. I even called my scion dealership they said that the engine was the same. So I figured it would jus fit. This is my first car and I know very little about this kind of stuff. The shop that I brought it to said that they have never done an engine swap from a 07 to 06. I was wondering if it has been done before?

it will fit. Issue is how will it react to your ECU because there was some minor improvements on the 07+ motors. An you will most likely need a 07+ CAI due to maf sensor is smaller than the 06.

You may need to acquire an 07 ECU. Hopefully Not. It should just run like an 06 since all the sensors are mostly the same part numbers from what ive found.
