Default SCION TC AIR FILTER

I just wanted to find out if the 2005 Scion TC uses the same size drop-in air filter as the Matrix XR/XRS? I just wanted to confirm since the TRD air filter available for the TC is marked Matrix XR/XRS and it's not specific for Scion TC. Thanks

Thats right. I just found this out, thanks to everyones help on this site. I looked at the trd filter numbers for the tc and camry and thought they were the same. So I ordered a k&n filter for the camry and turned out to be the wrong one. The corolla and the matrix filters are the same as the tc. The k&n number if anyone is interested is 33-2252.

Default SCION TC AIR FILTER

Thanks for the reply toyota_scion_tc! Do you think K&N are waaay better filter compared to the TRD? The price difference is about $10.00 (TRD being more) but I thought it's better to stay with the Toyota Family parts, just don't know if the performance would be the same or better.

not sure. Looking at them both I belive the K&N look better, but thats just my opinion. I am personally goin to use the K&N, I have always used k&N filters, even if I don't get more power I will at least get better gas milage. Everytime I have used a K&N filter I have notice a slight increase in power and gas milage though. I really think it is just personal opinions though.

I have the TRD air filter on my car. The part number is 00602-17801-010. I also have the TRD exhaust, and when I put this filter in, I could hear the air flowing like I had a CAI or other forced induction. I also noticed an increase in power. If you like K&N, go for it. I chose to go with TRD.

The K&N Filter flows 407 cfm. We can compare the two if we knew the cfm the trd filter flows.
