I'll check with parts in the morning and post the whole truth but... I really doubt this. |
i don't like how the key only comes in one color style.
also, i think it seems too easy to press the panic button and activate while you are starting the car. otherwise, i like the key |
for the panic, you need to keep it down for over a second (it's actually a long second). My g/f or I have *never* had the panic button go by accident.

I love the key. Coming from a nissan guy. The nissan key is this big rectangle about the size of our key maybe even bigger. And u key this really long and skinny ugly looking remote.

hey MOD. stop taking my posts out. The one in here was relevant and good.

what's the tC key look like?
|
You can view it on scion.com when you build your own scion. Click on the scion secuirty and its that key. You get the same key w/ the remote regardless.

Okay.... checked with parts/service and here is their answer.
The tC key and remote system is not compatible with the xB. The tC is a chip-key as part of the ignition immobilizer on the car and works on different frequencies than the xB will (or can). Sorry, no tC key for the xB unless you're REAL good with a soldering iron and can do the conversion yourself. |
the xB has a engine immoblizer transponder too? i thought only the tC had that, standard.
as a side note, i love that thats a standard feature, reason being, i don't have to worry about my car getting stolen. it would take some serious rewiring to get it started. yeah, they could go get a key cut from the vin at the dealer, but then they would have to reprogram it and pay about $80 for the new key. not worth the effort, if anyone wanted my car, they would have to drag it onto a flatbed. |
