I can post pics of 1st and 2nd if yu wanna see how short it is
Yes please!

^^ X2 on that one. lol... holy crap... any lower than that and you'd have to open the driver's side door and reach UNDER the car to shift it.

I certainly "get" the whole short shifter concept. It's part form/preference and part function... so a little on both sides of that fence. Personally for me, I don't mind the OEM throw distance or height. It feels pretty short on both parts to me. But then again, I've been owning/building/driving 4WD (on & off road) trucks and classic Porsches for many years and all of them with manual transmissions/gearboxes. Anyone that has driven one or the other of these, or both knows exactly what I'm talking about. Precise ratios but generally pretty long throws to get from one gear to the next.

Mainly made/designed for 1/4 mile drag racing. very quick gear change with very little physical effort on the driver's part. For those that aren't familiar with that design... the modern version of how it works is fairly similiar to "Paddle-Shifters" for the quick, precise, and short physical distance needed to change gears. If I remember correctly, I believe most if not all of the "muscle-era" cars with the factory option of the slap-stick-auto had the shift assembly on the tunnel and was moved back towards the driver. That making it easier to shift w/o the driver needing to change position or reach to shift.

I made a quick vid this morning of me shifting on the way to work. Excuse the quality, I recorded it on my droid. And I normally don't shift like this but I wanted to show the shifter. This is just a normalish 1st to 5th (shifts are slow cus I had to drive with my knees while I hold my phone.lol)

Let me know if this link works.

Hey guys,

As many suggested, our Scion tC Stage 2 short shifter is definitely a great choice. It's not simply designed to have the claim of being the shortest available, but it's engineered to give the optimal and most enjoyable throw and height reduction to your car!

We always keep them in stock, ready to ship within 24 business hours and we answer emails daily.

Thanks,

Frank

Wow! Very wrong! A short shifter is technically a shorter throw not height. The fad is a shorter height for the cool factor. I have the TRD which i won and it retains stock height but does create shorter throws. You wanna see a real short shifter look at a lot of Formula D cars. The shifter is sitting so high its at the steering wheel! Personally i like the stock height with shorter throws. Leverage is much better and with my Doc Iso custom weighted shift **** its even better.

my shifter is right by my steering wheel ..

you wanna know how close to the steering wheel?? i can touch both my steering wheel and my shift **** with one hand when i'm in 1st and 2nd gear... and rest my hand in between both while in 2nd..

and the throws are definitely much shorter than stock..

serith, you couldn't be any more wrong.

as i mentioned, i switched out my TWM stage 2 in lieu of Doc I's.
of course I suppose I never mentioned that I have his "Lazyboy"..

which as described... SIGNIFICANTLY RAISES the height.. as well as shortening the throws.

there are reasons why he's usually sold out. not only because people who don't return their cores, but the demand that he gets... because his stuff, is that awesome.
