Save your money and get a turbo after you buy the car. The TRD Supercharger is a waist in my opinion. I've ridin in a turbo tC and a supercharged tC and the Turbo was so much nicer. also, the Supercharger has some major flaws... not worth the 1850 bucks.

Oh shat! Yeah I fixed it... So the price has come down some since I decided last to even think about looking at a supercharger... But how much is it extra when you buy it off the lot?... I know TRD Sparks sells it at 1850 now, but when you buy the car at the Dealer Ship and have them put it on and yada yada, the price takes a hike..

The 08 SC does not cost the same as the 05-06 SC. I'm pretty sure they are giving them away at cost since that engine and ECU is no longer in production and they simply need to get them off the shelves.

The 07-08 SC costs $3200 from the dealership, and i believe $2950 from TRDsparks.com

Is the SC worth it?
Just consider the facts

- Instant boost and full boost only at redline [linear power]
- Full factory powertrain warranty
- 195 whp @ max boost / 185lbs. of torque
- Installed and tuned for under $1000 from almost any toyota dealership.

ALSO
If you buy the TRD intake, you will have to take it off when you buy the SC. They are not compatible with each other - assuming you are having everything done at the dealership.

the supercharger is crap. do not buy it. too many problems for not enough power. if you want boost, turbo the tc...

TRD cold air will do pretty much nothing in the realm of power as well....more of an sound/shiny under the hood kinda deal...

dont buy ANY of the accesories from the dealership...they will rip you off BIGTIME..they dont call it a "stealership" for nothing...

That's why yyou don't buy it at the dealership for anything over Spark's price. Anyway, the SC cannot be purchased with the car (financed) so you'd be better off buying online.

Also, I don't believe that the TRD CAI works with the SC.

You should read up in the "forced induction" subforum.

Turbo and Super each have thier own drawbacks. Personally, I only listen to opinions from people who own the product. They're the only ones who will give you a real idea of what to expect from the product.

i mean yeah, they will give you a lil power when you punch it, its riduculous...prolly over 2000 bucks for the SC and install, it just does not seem worth it.

So are you saying that one wouldn't get used to 8 psi power from a modest turbo setup? 'Cause I'm thinking that sooner or later you're gonna want to up the boost.

Contrary to what many people on here say, there are a lot of us out there who have the s/c and find it worth the cost, and a fun, worthwhile addition to the car. I'm very happy with mine. Had it about 1.5 years and am still happy and don't long for any more power. It's fine as is. And there's a lot to be said for having it covered under warranty.

putting boost on an auto tc is a waste anyway. they will still be slow. and boosting an auto makes it what, about as fast as a manual? and turboing it is limited before you do valve body upgrades and you need transmission coolers and such.

if you want alittle extra power for a good price, get a set of pulleys. just read up on their potential problems.
