Suggestions for the summer?!?!?!
I have a 2006 BSP tC, and with the hot weather keeping steady, and summer right around the corner, I was wondering what people do to prep there cars? Like keeping them cool, or helping them run through the hott weather? I already have a CAI, but thats it.....Any suggestions, or thoughts???
Thanks

Next month I will be hitting the track in Rosamond, CA. Expecting temperatures to be between 92-96 degrees F (how does your s/c tC run?). I know water/methanol injection would help with cooling, however, I won't have enough money for something like that because it also requires tuning.
The only thing that I have heard of that I could do to help with radiator boiling points is to use Redline 'water wetter'
Any other suggestions would be great...

Not much; the car is made to handle the heat.
However, it does help to avoid leaving the AC running while idling or running the car for hours and hours on end without a "break" in really hot weather.
Not so sure about the second part, though... thinking about it, it shouldn't really matter since if you're driving, then there's airflow through the radiator.
However, the tires and other parts will heat up and don't have the luxury of a dedicated cooling system like the engine.

Bleed the air out of the cooling system. Follow the procedure in the FSM.
If you want to go one step farther, you drain the system and put in distilled water with a bottle of super coolant like MoCool or Water Wetter.
Beyond that, underdriving the water pump with a pulley set from NST will definitely help keep the pump from cavitating at high rpm.
Our race car stays cool at 100 F plus with NST pulleys, straight water and super coolant, and the bottom grill piece removed. We also run the high pressure TRD rad cap which increases the boiling point.
What is an issue based on our datalogging is the temp of the P/S fluid and the engine oil. Run the P/S fluid at the lowest acceptable point. It will boil over like mad. Also make sure you're using a good sythetic oil like Motul. We're seeing 280 F on the P/S and 260 F on the oil.

Make sure you get your oil changed and all the fluids checked out before it gets to hot, also put a good coat of wax on it and get the weather visors so you can have your windows cracked even when you arent in the car
