Default Weird Clutch Engagement

Yesterday, during traffic, I was noticing (over time) that the engagement point was feeling a little weird. It was moving further up and also engaging quicker. Now the engagement point is at the very top of the pedal and mean the at tip top. It also engages very quickly making it hard to shift smooth all the time. The car has 96,000 miles on it and I assume it is the original clutch. It does not slip. I did the ~30mph 5th gear test and no slipping. Hills are also no problem. Any suggestions?

A hundred bucks says the next time you go to drive your car (after giving it a few hours of sitting) it will be back to normal. Don't over think it. I'm sure you just got on it a little bit. If you get on it a little bit, that heats up the material and then this happens, what describe happens. It'll stiffen up, don't worry.
