luckily, unless anybody is getting upgraded aspiration for christmas, the supercharger is supposed to be available pretty early next year, so we'll know the real deal then. start saving!

can we confirm this number anyone...is it really 250 at the wheels?...this is important because the s/c would be what like 228 at the wheels. 20 more horses but no warrenty is a big decision. let's confirm these numbers first though

Seriously i'll take like 20 less HP to keep my warrenty. When I think about this a turbo does cause more stress on the engine and the internals on this engine aren't the highest of quality. There is a chance that 2-3 years after you install your turbo if you havent changed any internals your engine may have problems. And then you'll have no warrenty to back it up.

Comparing a turbo to a supercharger performance wise is not reall much of a compare....you cant upgrade a s/c i mean yea you can buy another pulley to get some 3 or 4 extra psi but a turbo can produce ALOT more power for ALOT less money..turbo is very cheap if u can do it yourself...got to the junkyard and pick up a turbo from a eclipse or something simmular, then get some pipe bent, get an intercooler, stand alone fuel managmentwith new injectors, mechanical boost controller, some other tidbits and for atleast 2k less then that trd s/c you have alot better of a system and more horepower then that trd s/c....the only people who get superchagers are people who want some extra power and still have that reilability that the car always had. People who buy turbos are people who are looking for that everylast bit of horsepower....btw what is so hard about installing a s/c that u have to have it done at a dealer, i cant see it taking more than 3-4 hours of labor....

"The estimated price of the TRD Supercharger, along with installation, will be over $4,000"......where do u people get that it will be 4k from because i see OVER 4k

I think people want it done at the dealership for two reasons:
Warrenty and ECU.
The whole argument with S/C over Turbo is mainly about warrenty vs. power. So getting a S/C and installing it yourself would kind of defeat the purpose.

good point...but i still dont see the problem...if you want to keep ur warrenty and get some nice power gains for a whole lot of money then do the s/c...if u you want superior power and dont care about warrenty or want to make more power with less money get a turbo setup....im just trying to stress the fact a turbo has endless posibilities(to the respect of how much the engine can take) where the s\c is much more limited.....but what i just thought of was im thinking that the tc block stock proably cant take much more than 8-9psi without putting ur engine at risk...and since there isnt much internal engine parts i know of for the tc yet ex...low compresion pistons, titanium vavles or springs i guess it would be hard to make alot of boost

kind of but only if they could prove that the s/c broke the motor.

well im sure if u wanna blow like 8psi or more...u would have to redo a couple of things with the engine no matter what....im not looking to blow 20psi....just @5-7 psi would be nice...that should give the car plenty of power

idk, i just love the sound of turbo
Well if your talking about the Blow off Valve (BOV) since this supercharger is a blow design you can get an intercooler and a BOV. So you can have the sound of a turbo. Just not the spooling when reaching boost. :D
