I really don't like how you have to cut the key off in the ignition. I emailed them asking about where you could get it installed and they said any alarm install shop can do it but I feel like they wouldn't do it because its kind of a foreign alarm

It was all good until the cut your key and put part of it in the ignition. Any way to get things to work without a cut key in the ignition? Have to have a backup plan if the system was to ever fail. I can then use my key and still turn on the car and go.

You probably wouldn't have to. Maybe have a copy made, then take the transponder from one of the keys and use it with the kit. I just would like the ignition not be occupied with half of a key.

It is neat, but I have never understood the appeal personally. I personally do not like it that manufacturers use these systems. They provide no value really other than making the ignition/start system way more complex and more prone to failure.

Like I said, it is a neat feature and would be cool I guess for a show car or just to say "hey look at this" ... but not my thing. A key works fine... every time ;) The immobilzer in them these days are bad enough (so much fun having to have a car towed to a dealer if that fails... and I know 2 people that have had to do that on different cars) but at least provide some theft protection.. although not much since a serious car theif that actually wants the whole car will just drag it up on a trailer.

I dont think so. It is costly for something that is just a "neat" feature and ruins your key. If you didnt have to cut your key, I bet people would try this.

I'm going to bump and run.

This looks like a neat product. But lets say one of the many electronic pieces goes bad and you can't start your car.
