warranty issue? fabric on door!

warranty issue? fabric on door!
The fabric on the passenger side door is pulling apart from under the door handle. I called Scion and they said that it would be replaced by the dealer if it was due to a manufacturing problem. I get the feeling they don't want to cover it under warranty.
What should I do? Any advice?
