Default engine immobilizer (new key made that wont work)

I lost my keys to my 2006 Scion TC a few days ago and had to get another one made. It was very hard to get it to turn the first few times i tried it and when the engine finally turned over, my car would not start. There is a picture of a car and a key with a red light that is flashing on and off now. What could be the problem? Could it be that the key is causing the engine immoblilizer to kick on? What should i do? Thank you!

As far as I know you have to go to the dealership to have a spare key made, otherwise you'll have the problems like your having.

If you lost ALL keys to your car you need to have the immobilizer reprogrammed. A dealership will need to reprogram the car which means a tow to the dealership and keys made by them. When I had mine done it took two days, they broke my side skirts, lost my front bumper, and blew up my turbo. I was assured however that it is a 10 minute job.

Reason you need a dealership to do it is because the techstream laptop is like 1500 bucks.

No they did not, I had a lawyer call them and they called my bluff... I did not have the cash to take them to court and they knew it. The BBB did sue them and won like 250k in claims but my name was late on the ticket and since it was all aftermarket items they did not give me anything.

Other than that, yea techstream and a master tech to change the ECU key codes
