Enginfineer and Tckurt, I know and understand about the Speed limiter. TcKurt, the limiter stops you before you reach 140 somewhere around 125. When, if and why I do it really doesn't matter because its my car and if I want to be really really really stupid and endanger my life its my perogative. Did I mention Really Stupid? Now for the record, I have done top speed on a track just to figure out what it was. Going that fast on the street is just plain stupid.

No one cares if you endanger your life, problem is if you lose control of your car and hit someone else with it going 140mph. You endanger your life on a track, but it's legal because you usually can't hurt anyone, and if you can, they knew it was possible in a race.

All I was saying is that it is not a feature that is not on other vehicles... you mentioned it as if it was a tC feature you did not like.

Also, if it werent there (it limits to 127), you may get about 8 or 9 more mph out of it... it is set due to the limitations of the vehicle.

enough said by the fellow tc owners. . get a tc. . .you'll get more head turns and more respect if you get a tc. . i get my car mistaken for a lexus all the time. . its my mini lexus ahha. . civics are too common. . do you want a common car or a car that you only will see once in a great while? people bash on civics that and you'll prolly be one of a few tc owners in your town. . i know i sure am . . but yeah its up to you brother. .

The important thing to remember is that both cars are good. You can't really buy one or the other, and then deeply regret the purchase. It all depends on what you want out of your car, and which one can deliver that more.

I got my tC because they are unique and not that common as I was looking at the Corolla XRS but there are so many Corollas out on the road already and I just didn't want to blend in with the crowd. The Civic is a nice car for people on a budget needing good gas mileage but the 06 Si that could be a whole different matter when it comes out as the pre production photos do look sharp. Both cars are going to be very reliable but you need to choice one based on what your priorities are and what fits your budget.

They are both kick as cars the same time I got the tc my sister got the civic ex. Boy I'm glad I got the tc. Both are pretty close too 100% value but my pros and cons seem to way out way themselves when comparing the two, according to my needs.

Both have a drivetrain system that will keep any owner allot happier with maintenace + reliability than most if not all competiitors.

The major factor that makes me feel my car is better is simply the ride inside. Contrary to what was said I was under the impression that the tc styling inside was nice and not cheap as compared to that of what I seen in my sisters ex. More importantly after riding in her car and then mine the tc ride seem much smoother and better sound proofed. Riding in the ex kinda of reminded me of and old 5.0, stiff suspension that picked up much road noise and seemed to cause unessasary rattles and squeaks . Turns well and handles considerably well for such a cheap car, but remember neither are sports cars.

After seeing the gas mileage in the ex on freeway and around town I was amazed. I wouldn't say this car was slow either but when comparing it to the tc its almost safe to say this.

So test drive both and pay attention to the little things because either way your getting a good car. After going through the same decision the tc was a good idea for me and one I don't care to go back on especially after taking and ex to Tahoe and then my, dare is say BETTER,tc.

I work for Honda/Toyota or Seattle. I had a choice of hte 2 cars and I chose to wait for the tC. The bottom line is that it has a significant ammount more power, it has MANY standard features that you are without on the civic(17' wheels, turn signals in mirrors, dual roof, ABFD, 3 free oil changes, 60K power train warranty, pioneer sterio, Hatchback, reclining rear seat, more legroom in both the front and back, it handles better and to top it all off its LESS expensive. The only reason to get a civic is if you are planning on leasing the car, in which case the programs are better.

The EX is very ordinary.

Everyday when I see a tC it catches my eye, a Civic however doesn't.

It has a larger (Possibly THE largest?) aftermarket but you shouldn't spend more then a few hundred on an economy car.

get the tC, its wayyy better! looks better too! theres a 06 civic si in my hood, and i always see them lookin at my car plus its cheaper. you're gettin' your money worth with a tC. i think the tC is the only car thats compatible with ipod (if u get the headunit upgrade) w/o usin a ipod adapter so thats a plus if you have a ipod or wantin one. either way theres really no win-lose situation, its your decision.

but don't forget you're on a scion forum, basically the honda is out numbered by us tC owners oh yea! don't waste ur money on a honda, it'll soon become too common. i'm already seein the new accords here and there no shockers. i'm probably 1 out of atleast 10 (or maybe less) that owns a tC here in my town. i rarely see the other tc owners and trust me everytime i go on the highway i see people lookin. even the old folks
