is it a good idea to buy the used coilovers? some people say it don't buy use struts and shocks because of the wear already. what about coilovers?

It's a bit of a gamble, but if the seller states that shocks are good, and no seizing, then it's up to you to take that chance. Especially with a seller with good past sales.

it should be good! only if you know that they been riding it on blown shocks for a while the it might kill it. I didn't trust my Tien S-Tech after I've ride em on my blown shocks for 5k.

Well struts I wouldn't worry too much since they are designed for not so aggressive dampening/compression and softer springs so they tend to last longer than coilovers.
Coilovers on the other hand, I would be a bit more careful buying them used, since they are extremely sensitive road imperfections and they don't absorb them that well. Better if you can inspect it before you purchase them, because there can be alot of problems; seizing, dampening **** not working, dampening issues, loose pillowball mount, etc Coilovers is a very delicate product and problems can occur easily if you buy the wrong ones. So your best bet is to do your homework.

I agree with petchara. its a bit of a gamble if you could inspect the coils first it would be better.

Not really a gamble, just make sure you can look at them and that the seller is honest about the miles.

it's a gamble, but I've had a set of used F&F Type 2's on my car for about 2 1/2 years now and they're great. Only thing that's been wrong with them is the rear bottom strut mount bushing went bad, but that's to be expected after a few years. If you trust the person you're buying them from and you can take a good look at them you should be fine.
