Camber Plates for the Front Struts.
 

Hey guys I have some questions about camber plates for the front end of the car. As far as I know there are no camber plates for our car with out going to coils. However when I googled it. I came across this article from a few years ago.

It seems they were able to use the Wild Pony Kmac camber plates with the Progress struts. A simple google of the wild pony company showed they make no product for us what so ever. I did email the author of the article hoping he can give me some more info.

Does anyone have know any more info on this or maybe can point me to in the right direction.

I'm currently trying to get the car prepped for the scca STF auto-x class. Currently I'm on standard TRD springs and struts. I spent most of my budget on tires and 2nd set of rims this year. I do have camber bolts in the front so that allows to about -2 degrees but with our heavy ___ front end I really could use a little more. Also anyone know what the spring rates are on the trd springs? I know they are not the best just wondering what I'm working with currently.

You are looking at 168f/320r on the trd rates.

I ran those for a couple of seasons autoxing my tc. Since then I have run tein ss-p's (390f/559r) which is a better setup. Those come with camber plates. If you go with something like that, definitely stick with a stock front sway and run the front dampers a bit softer to help with corner exit wheel spin. I run a big (dg spec 25mm solid progress) rsb set on full stiff. I also run nearly -3 deg front camber and - 1.25 rear for autox.

Wild pony has made camber plates for the tc, but you need to call and ask them. A few years ago, tons of people were all gung ho about wanting camber plates. So I talked with wild pony about making us some and got some group buy talk going. As is normally the case on here though, once the talk turns to committing to buy, all bit one or two stopped responding :p I think if you had them make one set it would be over $400. Bit they may go lower. Just resist the urge to buy cheap crap like raceland coils to get what you want if you really intend on competing with it. Teins (their coilovers anyway) are pretty well built and perform well for the price. They are not koni, moton, hypercoils, etc, but get the job done.

I would be a bit leary of camber plates that cheap. Makes you wonder about the construction. May be ok, but i worry about buying a structural component from somewhere I have never heard of, at a low price. If they even still make them.

If I ever get around to designing my own set of coilovers, I likely (if damper shafts fit) will try to reuse the plates off the ssps I am running now.

Its scionlife, I hope you understand they like cheap, undeveloped parts.

Yes a large portion of them do. I know feldy from ystc and know that is not what he is going for.

For the record, I didn't buy those, just found them when searching a while back.

They may be ok, just no info to know so its hard to say.

true. no reviews on the quality of their work. i'm sure if you search the web you can find some reviews on the plates they still make for other cars and go from there. it also makes me wonder why they stopped making them for the tC if they even did...
