Default Coils or Springs?

I'm looking to lower my wife's 07' TC. I want a mild drop ~1 inch and a soft suspension. As close to stock as possible.

My options are Tein H tech springs, but I may have to replace the shocks as well (90k miles). I think they are called Koni yellows. In total it would be about $900.00

Or option B. Tein Basic Coils. $850.00

What do you guys think? Again keep in mind I want a mild drop and soft suspension. I realize i will be able do adjust height with the coils, but how stiff will it ride?

Thanks guys!

Most aftermarket coils and springs stiffen the ride, not make them softer. If you want soft, probably best to stick with OEM. If you want it dropped, then adjustable coils is probably better way to go. Stiffness depends on which ones you use and whether or not they're adjustable on stiffness as well.

So it seems for comfort the Koni shocks with Tein H springs are best since "softness" can be adjusted on those shocks, but its not height adjustable like the Tein coil overs.

Will ride height with springs on stock shocks vs aftermarket shocks be any different? I would assume no as height is purely dependent on the springs and not the shocks. Is this correct?

Shocks dont usually change height or feel all that much. I actually have a set of used trd shocks and struts for sale. Bought them cuz I thought mine were going bad, but ended up not needing them. They came with lowering springs too (dont know what kind), but i have no idea how much drop they give. Asking $220 shipped for all 4 (includes springs and top hats) or obo. You can remove the springs if you dont need them or want them.
