Raceland Coilover Clunk Noise
I installed the Raceland Coilovers into my 2008 tC about 2 months ago. To this day, they clunk when going slow over big bumps, and when I drive diagonally over, say, a speedbump.
It also clunks when I rock the car pushing down on the top right quarter panel. It sounds like it's coming from the driver side top hats perhaps. I guess it might be pretty obvious that it is, but I cannot figure out the issue. I've torqued down the 3 bolts to spec. They're also OEM top hats.
Only possible thing is the top nut on top hat. I don't know how to tighten this up because it seems like it'll just tighten up and stop at a certain point anyways.
Please help!

Hey old post but still same problem since I've written the OP.
I still can't figure out the issue. I don't remember if I ever installed with the foam spacer pieces from the stock strut assembly. Would it clunk without those?
Also when I try to tighten the top nut, it seems like it doesn't even get "tight" it just stops tightening at a point. It's weird. What am I doing wrong?

don't know much about racelands in particular, but I'm guessing the rod starts spinning before the bolt really gets tight. You could take the coilover off and then somehow hold the rod (might have flats you can hold with a spanner) or you can hit the top bolt directly with an impact gun on the lowest setting. The first method is preferred since you can torque to spec. The second may get you in the ballpark of proper torque if you're using a decent impact at the lowest setting (like and Ingersoll Rand or similar)
