struts for a lowered tc???

Are there specific struts to use for a lowered tc???

robtheqb2003 03-09-2008 10:44 PM

trd, tokico, koni...

AcidDrop 03-09-2008 10:46 PM

^yeah those are the only 3 brand struts out there. tokico may cost less than the other 2 but they require a little bit of modification. also what springs are you on?

lltysonll 03-09-2008 10:48 PM

hey what modification is required with tockio HP's????

AcidDrop 03-09-2008 10:55 PM

someone on here posted a DIY install and said that he had to cut something off of the stock strut. but i can't seem to find the tread right now.

Boxlikr630 03-09-2008 10:57 PM

it's actually my buddy's tc so i don't know what springs he has but its on 18s and they're really tucked and i guess he wore out the stock struts out quickly and now the ride sucks so thats why im postin this for him...what kind of modification is required for the tokico???

Ro_Ja 03-09-2008 10:58 PM

It's the Koni struts that require modification, not the Tokico. Just get TRD. Perfect drop in replacement. No worries or hassle.

AcidDrop 03-09-2008 11:01 PM

^is it really. hmm i got flipped around then.

lltysonll 03-09-2008 11:04 PM

okay lol bc i just installed my tokicos 2 weeks ago. I knew the konis needed modification though. Just making sure.

AcidDrop 03-09-2008 11:12 PM

and here i was thinking that it was the tokico that needed that. ^how do the struts feel for daily driving and when you go over speed bumps?

Boxlikr630 03-09-2008 11:17 PM

so the trds are meant for a dropped tc then??? how's the ride quality vs the others??

andino 03-09-2008 11:21 PM

TRDs are best matched with TRD springs but they'll work with any other lowering springs

Boxlikr630 03-09-2008 11:39 PM

cool.....thanks for the help

tCeeder 03-10-2008 02:07 AM

Tokico HP ftw

FreedomOne 03-10-2008 02:11 AM

I will go with the TRD set up.

tCvera 03-10-2008 02:32 AM
