tire pressure monitor lights on???

hey guys, i just bought a new set of tires and wheels for my tC... (pixs will be up soon) and the size is on my sig... the problem is the tire pressure monitor light pop-up on my gauges for the 5x TIMEs  i reset and everything for 5x but after every 2 minutes it came ON again  i really dont know what happen....can you help what am i going to do like any solutions  .... if i go to the dealer are they going to fix it??

tires: 225/40/ZR18

i check everything and it looks fine to me.... i bought my wheels and tires at DISCOUNT TIRE.....

wuts ur tire pressure on those rims set at??
light comes on if tire pressure drops below 26/28psi
or if u have too much air (come on sometimes)

when i put my stock wheels back on, after sellin my axis wheels
i criss/crossed the tires (2 rear tires are worn) and the light came on
it went off after moving the tires to the right spot

double check ur tire pressure, and that the tires/rims are mounted correctly
if light keeps coming on, take it to the dealer...they should look at it, u should have no issue

also there is a magnetic sensor that could have been bumped with the install and if that is knocked off or damaged with the removal and installation of tires this will cause it to happen.

Theres a reset button in the glove compartment. Check your owners manual. It tells you how to get rid of it.

ive try it again to reset and it blinks 3 times which is it have to happen( owners manual)... now there no more light came on, i experiment it... you have to hold the reset button for a minute till it blink 3 times then viola! no more lights... which is good... cuz before i hold it like 5 seconds then the light came off which is not the right way and i didnt wait for the 3 blink, you have to hold it long and wait till it blink 3 times so the monitor will read it and reboot.... kinda confuse  sorry hope you guys understand it... :P

Correction, it does not come on when pressure simply drops below a certain level. It comes on when ONE or possibly two drop. There is no pressure sensor on this car. It only knows that one wheel is turning faster than the others. This signifies that the pressure is lower (overall circumference is smaller). I would look at a possibly damaged sensor as mentioned if you know the pressure is correct all the way around.

i meant in 1/2 wheels, not all
forgot to specify

good correction

My light keeps on coming on with the correct pressure on all 4 wheels. The sensor light never came on untill after I dropped it. I will reset it with the glove box button but then 10 miles down the road (!) comes back up.
Has anyone gotten this before with there lowered tC?

ScionBandit 02-14-2006 08:27 PM

ive seen customers with it, they have knocked the sensor or damaged it somehow

Scott8 02-14-2006 08:30 PM

I had Toyota do the install :loser:

ScionBandit 02-14-2006 08:34 PM

id have them check it, for sure
by they, i meant whoever installed the springs i.e. customers, techs

And it pulls to the right a little. Oh well...I'll jut bring it back and ask them nicely to fix it.

someone needs some help as a tech....
have they heard of quality control?

engifineer 02-14-2006 09:12 PM

^^ Agreed, something isnt right. Have them fix the aligment and/or other issues causing it to pull first. If you still see an issue with the pressure warning light then look further.

Oh, and I should have said clarification rather than correction earlier :P

The whole tire pressure sensor is pointless. I blew out a tire and it didn't come on. I am sure it is a nice option to have as standard equipment, but it should probably go on once you have a blow out???
I am probably just going to disable ^^^ and be done with it.
