Default Who Else Touge's their tC??

So...I been on like a Million Touge Runs riding in a Mazda RX-8, Speed6 they handle like 50% better than the tC does..

I rode w/ my friends tC...he's pretty good in his tC it just doesnt quite handle as good!...
Then driving my tC Touge'in feels kinda sloppy..eventhough I have a lot of Suspension Mods...

So...does anyone think Under Chassis Bracing like an "X" shape that would make the chassis more stiffer???.....or what would make the tC to handle a lil better on a Touge Run??

Thanks..Just seeing what others will say!!!!!

well, looking at your cardomain profile, your suspension list isn't that impressive.

my advice: front sway bar (i had the trd rear sway bar, swapped to hotchkis front and rear, HUGE DIFFERENCE)

strut tower braces seem to do...nothing but look cool.

you have lowering springs which are good, but they work better with stiffer shocks and struts, like the trd set, or koni yellows.

hope that helps.

i love touge especially up in azusa canyon GMR is a nice road to drive and im on stock suspension and the ride is really good to me but versus some AE86 and RX-7 and what not its like those cars are made to handle well up there

Swaybars, coilovers, sway bars*, and some chassis reinforcement and you'll have a decent handling car. I wouldn't worry about trying to hang with RX-8s and 86s though because you bought the wrong car for that. Just have fun out there and be safe.

sorry, that is what i based my response on. but anyway, trust me, put on front and rear anti-sway bars, it will tighten the car up so well.

There's some mods you might want to get. Ingalls 4pt rear brace makes a huge difference in handling. And depending on the road conditions you might not want to make the suspension too stiff, sometimes you actually might need it a lil softer than what you think.... it really depends on the road conditions though..

the Concept in Motion guys also touge their cars.... but I sadly a more slower driver than most of my crew members. I can't handle driving the touge runs at night at certain speeds we reach.

I think you also have to consider that the Speed 6 is all wheel drive and both RX-8 and 86 are rear wheel drive. Therefore, the turning propertise would be quite different than our front wheel drive TC. However, for a front drive car, I would say Tc is really not bad in comparsion. Of cousre, I agree with what all of you have said about the mods that has to be done~ peace everyone~

I touge quite often with my tC.

Sure it's a little sluggish in the corners, but what do you expect from a front wheel drive car with a sun/moon roof?

Buy some strut/sway bars to increase your chassis rigidity... guarentee it will help.

Bottom line, it isn't going to handle as well as a RWD or AWD car. Given a stock AE86 and a stock tC I am confident that I would destroy my time in the tC with the 86.

i touge my car, not too often tho because it is not safe whatsoever..

all i have done is tein ss+p coilovers, which helped out a little, but they may be a little too stiff, i have them at 14/16. the car kinda bounces when i hit speeds over 100mph, and when taking sharp turns it stays planted, but seems like it wants to bounce off the road or something, so too stiff is not always better.

im making my car handle well first, because to be honest the tC will never be "fast" so might as well make it quick around the corners, this is what i am going to be doing relatvely soon...

-17x8 5zigen fn01r-c wheels w/ 245/40 falken tires
- Tein EDFC Controller
-Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway Bar
-Dezod Endlinks
-Energy Suspension Bushings(all around)
-Ingalls Bracing, ETD & 4PT
-DC Front Strut bar, you want a one piece, i dont know what you have ,but if you have something like a megan or etc where it bolts onto a plate, then onto the bar, that doesnt do anything.

thats about it... i mean aside from the other little details, like brakes, corner balancing, and just learning how to drive, you should be set.

go to a couple of auto-x's and you will learn alot, best mod is driver improvement, trust.
