Default 17 x 7 or 17 x 8's?

Im looking into getting some Flik FTD's...because of the fact they are so lightweight and pretty cheap.

should i stick with the stock 17x7 size or should i get the wider 17x8's?

reading this link made me a little weary about buying 17x8's because of what it says about wider tires :

http://www.dunloptire.com/care/widthRatio.html

opinions and honest advice please?

17x8, with a +35 offset and run 235/40 tires and you will be set.

or you can just get the 17x7 with a 225/45 tire and still be better than stock, but i would go for the added width.

with the flik's you cant get 245's to fit.

you need a +42 or higher offset, they only come in a +35, so you will rub with a 245.

"Selection of a wider rim, from within the approved range, (T & RA tables) stiffens the sidewall and improves handling at the expense of handling."

Okaaaay, so since I have 225 width tires instead of the standard 215, that means my wheels are matter-antimatter devices?
