215/55-17 fit at stock height?
I have a stock 2006 tC that I want to put 215/55-17's on up from the stock 215/45-17.
I don't need to hear the Pro/Con of doing this, just hoping someone on here is running this and can comment on any fitment issues.
Thanks!

The ride is so much better and it lowered my cruising RPM at 80mph by 500 RPM (from 4k to 3500). Getting 2-3 mpg better on the highway. No rubbing either.

Taller tires give a smoother ride. That's why back in the 50's, cars had such big tires on 14" wheels. Expect to lose a little handling compared to your 215/45's.
BTW did the tire store give you any static about the size change?

I'm an engineer for Goodyear so I didn't get too much crap about picking a different size

Sorry for reviving this thread.
I was thinking of going to 215/50R17s but now that I see this thread I may consider the 55 series instead if they fit for the stock ride height. I bought my tC only to drive to work which is 95% highway so a little loss in corner carving is fine. Is the OP still on here and can share anything from years of running them? Anyone else can think of any negatives other than the speedo being off?
