Default Choice between two Wheel Offsets

Hi,

Im writing because to this day I dont well understand the term "wheel offset" and would like some feedback about a set of wheels I am about to purchase. I have a tC lowered with Eibach Pro Kit suspension. Im planning to buy some 18x8 wheels with a set of 235-40-18 wheels. First question is....Will they rub with my suspension setup? The second question is what offset should I choose to have them flush with the fender?. I have a choice between 47 and 35 offset but as I dont understand well the term offset I cant figure out which will sit more flush. I want the offset that makes them look more flush to the fenders. Can you help me with this? Thanks in advance.

well you can get any width and tire size, it just depends on the offset.

at 18x8, you can get pretty aggressive with offsets like +20 if youre running with camber (and depending on how low you are).

I have 18x8 +32 and its flush. Not poking and not tucking. You should get +35

imo, 235 on a 8" wide rim is going to look chunky. Id go 215.

here you go!

http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp

enter stock wheel specs on the left (17x7 et45 with 215/45/r17)

and enter whatever wheel specs you want on the right and you can get a pretty good idea of what fits, or what not.

my personal recommendation is to drop the tire size from 235/40 to the 225/40/r18 with the 35 offset. no need for wider tires if you arent tracking your car or pushing high horsepower!

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot guys for your feedback and information. Now I got a better idea of what wheel/tire combo to purchase and how it will look better. Thanks a lot again.
