alot of non-performance shops (just tires, firestone, etc) wont service my stretched tires. they think its unsafe and dont want to be liable, so I have to goto mom & pop tire places. LOL.

that VW is hot.......I put 205/45/17s on 8x17 rims on my Yaris HB and they are a little stretched the rims are like 3/8 wider on each side compared to the tread sides and it looks really good.....tC......not sure if it would look to good......

So is this akin to cutting springs? It achieves the cool look, but at the expense of performance and safety?
I've never seen this before though, never knew people did that...
Are setups like this more prone to getting popped beads? I would think you run the risk of losing air pressure just by driving around. What about liability? I'd imagine, in the extreme, if you caused an accident, you could be up for quite a civil suit.
