when done correctly its not "that" unsafe... more dangerous for tire wear and the lip of the rim which will suffer the most abuse lol its a bit a extreme but its a trend so let it be.

i've been a vwvortex member since 2002 (back when I had a dub), and anyone there who knows better (typcially vortex veterans) will agree those examples are no good. its not a safety issue, its just downright ugly.

Bad examples of stretch? Wasnt that one car a Top Dog competitor at H2O? I think its safe to say those are all vehicles with a serious stretch.. not a little poking of the rim. Im sure his point wasn't to post the safest stretch, but rather simply.. a stretch.
He never claimed it was safe... but you can't deny he was posting some seriously stretched wheels.
Of course this is SL... so theres always gotta be someone bringing negativity to a thread. this place.

I do not, nor will I ever, want to, be driving in, around, or even remotely near the VW in question.
I can understand stretching, much as I personally disagree with it's aesthetic value... but putting that much stress on a tire not only from such an extreme stretching, but from the absolutely horrific suspension and alignment on that car (particularly on the rear wheels) is a recipe for total disaster.
