Need some help on tires. 19x8.5 offset 35

I have a set of stern ST-2 19x8.5 offset 35, and I'm lowered on TRD springs.

The tires that are on the wheel right now are 225/35/19 front, and 235/35/19 rear. I was wondering if i will have any problem with the 235 in the rear? will i rub?

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-tc-1g-wheel-tire-1646/what-fits-tc-list-%7C-updated-4-2-08-a-45552/

On this thread ^^^^ it show that i will have a problem even with 225. But on this bottom thread it say that i can have 245.

please give me some advice or any help would be great. Thanks

Should I change the tires? or keep the F:225/R:235

1. Front 225/35/19 Back 225/35/19
2. Front 215/35/19 Back 225/35/19

anybody...??? bump

Any reason why you don't have the same size all around? I'd say just go for 225's on all 4 corners.

01msmis 03-03-2010 06:27 AM

I got the rims used and it came with 235. The tires is almost new, so i dont want to waste it and change it. But if i have too then i will.

on trd's you shouldn't have any problems. Just keep what they have on them.

Ro_Ja 03-03-2010 06:34 AM

I think you'd be safer on 225's. +35 on a 8.5'' wheel with 235's might rub.

dqlostsoulz 03-03-2010 06:35 AM

maybe with people in the back.

01msmis 03-03-2010 06:41 AM

thanks u guys. i will try to see if the 235 going to rub or not. If it does. Do u think it is better if it change it to 225 to have a full 225 all around or change it to 215 and put it in the front and 225 in the rear?

dqlostsoulz 03-03-2010 06:43 AM

I have 215/35 on 8.5, but only cause I wanted a bit of a stretch so I could lower my car more. Your on trd's so if you get smaller tires it will make the wheel gap even more noticeable..

01msmis 03-03-2010 06:47 AM

Thanks alot! i guess if it does rubs, i will change it to 225.

dqlostsoulz 03-03-2010 06:48 AM

yeah or just roll your fenders.

01msmis 03-03-2010 06:52 AM

Yeah, maybe rolling the fender will be cheaper then change to two new tires. Since the current tires have like 90% tread left.

dqlostsoulz 03-03-2010 06:54 AM

yup..there you go cause 19" tires do not come cheap.. You can do it yourself with a heat gun, bat and a lot of patience for free..thats what I did. And they came out flawless, it was my first time.

I have 225/35's and I don't rub...my tires are slightly stretched though.

My wheels are 19x8.5 Axis Shines on all four corners. TRD Springs.

Keep what you have, 225/35/19 should work when you need new tires. The 235 will be fine, you'll have plenty of room. 245 would push it!

MrBurrito 03-03-2010 02:39 PM

i also have axis shines with 19x8.5 35 in the front and 19x9.5 40 in the rear with 255/35/19 in the rear and 235/35/19 in the front. i cut my rears. and left my front alone. i'm lowered on eibach prokit springs

Nice lip! How you like your 19's do you think their to big? And I think it would look better if you lowered it and stretch tires...thats just me :P

MrBurrito 03-05-2010 05:26 AM

i like them and i wanted to go lower but am not really into the whole stretch/slammed look it does look nice though from time to time. im going back to 17s though.
