Default OEM Wheel Lock

Hate to sound like a noob but I did do a search on this one. Is is possible/okay to use the oem wheel locks on aftermarket wheels? Thanks in advance for any input on this.

no, aftermarket wheels take different kinds of lugs then stock, you will mostlikely have to buy aftermarket wheel locks

I have yet to see a set last better than McGaurd. I have owned three sets and they are the only brand I will buy. I have seen many others break under normal wheel lug tq.

I have broken 1 set of mcgaurds.. that was removing them after a tire shop moron ran them down to impact gun tq (180 - 220 ft lbs). So I wasnt too surprised

All of them are fairly easy to removed. They are mainly just a deterrant for less serious thieves. We had some thieves come through our apartments when I still lived there. Not only did they get some stereo equip, they stole about 4 sets of very nice rims. We found the locking lugs scattered all over. They used some of them to throw through windows so they could steal head units. Alarms were nothing as well, since they were long gone before anyone noticed those going off

Dang man! There was this civic parked on the main street that got his wheels stolen overnight at my gfs place. I'm installing my am wheels this spring and im thinking of running two sets of locks for each wheel. What could be other ways of preventing/delaying the process of getting your wheels jacked?!
