Rim and tire question

There is a guy selling rims on craigslist and i need a new set of rims and tires.
He has a 17" rim with 205/40r17 tires. Will these work on a 2006 tc? What's the disadvantage if they do?
Need to know asap.

Those tires will be super thin. Your wheel gap will look huge and the wheels will look small. That size is good for cars that came with 14 and 15 inch wheels.
