what performance tires are best for stock rims?
i rather like the stock rims and i dont want to drop 1400 for the HPR's i like right now. what tires do you suggest for the stock rims? i live in miami so snow is not a problem. thanks in advance
I would suggest waiting on tires and saving all your money towards the rims. Unless you are planning on buying 17" rims, it would be dumb to drop ~$400 on new tires that you are going to only use for a year. (Which can be less than a year if you save that money and use it towards the rims)
bringing this topic back..i dont think ill be getting rims for a while, rather save for the supercharger or turbo. so...what tires are best for the stock rims and how much can i look to spend? rains alot here in miami so handling on wet roads is important. thanks

I have the Azenis RT-615 in 225/45-17 on the stock wheels and they are by far the best handling street tire I have ever had. They ride great and are not loud at all.
Here is some more information on these tires:

No they are not loud, since they are a softer compound.
usually the harder the treadware rating the louder it will be.
read the treadware, 200 is soft 280 is pretty soft and anything above that is worthless in my opinion.
get some TR615 or advan Neova or toyo TS-1 or even the RA-1 if your looking for a performance tire. if your looking for a street tire with decent life look at the perilli's or kuhmos or hankooks.

See this to understand what tire treadware info actually means:

Performance tires with a lower treadwear rating will typically be more noisey than a standard all-season OE type tire. The OE tires are a compromise in poor weather performance and dry performance when compared to dedicated performance tires or snow tires. The OE tires cost more, but are an all year tire.
To the orignal poster, read this information to help select the right tires for your needs:

I prefer to have a set of summer tires and a set of snow tires for the area I live in. I find the tire sets last longer since they are used less, and I get better performance over the year with specific tires designed for the conditions I drive in. I also find the cost usually isnt much more. I find good deals on a 2nd set of rims, so I just swap the rims/tire sets myself. Snow tires and dedicated performance summer tires are usually less than an all-sean tire cost wise, so it sort of washes out.
