9012 HIDs hitting the lens of the Projectors..

9012 HIDs hitting the lens of the Projectors..
I've recently purchased an HID kit for my 2015 which came with 9012 bulb size. I was informed that the 9012 were similar to the 9006.
When i went to install them I came across an issue that the bulbs were hitting the lens before I could twist them in place.
I didn't have to mod any of the plastic clips that hold the hid in place but I seem to be hitting the lens before the bulb is secured in place.
Has anybody else ran into this problem ?
