Welcome to the forum.
I never seen that product. Did you paint over the part of the lens that was already red? It looks damn good.

I bought it at pep boys. 12.99 and yes I sanded the whole tail light then sprayed it over with about 4 coats. I love it

Its $14.99 here.
Can You please post a side shot?
Now I'm all self conscious that my tail lights have to much white in them. But cause of you I'm thinking about covering the turn signal part on the back.

Looks awesome. What steps did you take to create these beauties? I've wanted to do my tails for a while now but don't want to do black. Too played out imho and just screams "pull me over". I did my center brake light in red already and have had a whole can I've been dying to use. Did you: Wetsand, 4 super light coats, and clear? Or did you sand in between clear and red? Anyways they look amazing. Great job!

My lights were actually slightly smoked. just the red part. so i sanded the red part again. the clear i didnt sand because i guess you dont have to with the red tint. but i used 2000 grit sand paper for the top. then applied about 3 coats. let them dry then i used a hand held buffer for the shine. pretty much a 2 hour process.

That helps a lot thanks. I like how you can't see the white from the side. Was it hard to remove the tail lights? And did you use one of those drill attachments from AutoZone? I'm def gonna have to buff them like you did because my center light isn't near as shiny as I expected with clear coat over top.

I hear with that spray smoke you dont have to sand. I didn't sand my side markers and 3rd brake light and they turned out fine.
How did you mask the reverse part off with? Perfectly cut tape?

^ that's where I went wrong I think. I wetsanded my 3rd brake before tint and clear and now it doesnt shine at all =\ I'm wondering if I should wetsand the topcoat with some finegrit to get the shine back or try buffing them? I know when I do the taillights I'm gonna spray them without sanding first so they stay shiny. Another thing that may or may not have an effect on shine is that I made the light a lot darker than I had hoped and I'm thinking the paint itself isn't super glossy.

Ever since i tinted them back in jan i wet sanded then with 2000 grit sandpaper. after i applied the tint coats i would let them dry for about an hour then buff them with a buffer and a ultra shine product for cars. i never have a problem with them not being shiny

Buff them out with a car care shine paste. thats why i did and theyre as shiny as a brand new stock taillight

I have one of those headlight restore kits from my girls old car laying around. Think that would work? Or do you recommend a specific product or buffer pad? I have a drill but no buffer. I was also wondering if you knew how to remove the tails for painting and buffing.

Ive used something like that on mine. i love it. i hit it with 2 coats and its really dark. you can still see it. i wouldnt recommend using more than 2 though. I also left the reverse like the original and i love it more!

^that's exactly how dark my center brake light came out with only two coats. I was like "Wtf why is it so dark?" I like it now but its insane how dark two coats will make it. Just a warning to anyone that wants the light RED and not dark as ____.

@ivantc09, your taillights look cool...nice job. Btw, your fog lights, where did you get them from and what bulbs are you using? Thank you.
