I rewired mine diffrently so that the brake lights illuminate both LED rows and I eliminated the reverse lights and made them light up amber as turn signals. Hey B3its did you get that ugly gap on the outter edges ?

I did... somewhat. But it's honestly nothing I'm all too worried about. It could be better though

Do any of you guys have problems with leaks or anything like that cuz of the tail lights? I've been hearing about leaks a lot and I don't want to put like 200 bucks on tail lights just to have leaks!

do the smoked ones look good on a 2013 Metallic grey?

CAtC12 09-14-2013 11:42 PM

wheres the reverse light?

sarahbanana28 01-14-2014 01:13 AM

I got these for christmas and installed it. I have a 2011 so how would i go about wiring it for the 2nd reverse light to work? it already has the bulb setup for the reverse light. just no power going into it I guess.

You can purchase a switch back LED bulb with white/amber in it. That way you can run the reverse and turn signal into one bulb but the coloring will be correct and not amber even in reverse.

This is a good idea but are switchbacks that bright to use as reverse light?
Do you have DIY for rewiring this? TIA

I have not done this myself as don't have LED taillights, but wiring isn't complicated. A 7743 plug has 4 wires going into it, so in this case you'd have two wires for turn signals and 2 for reverse. Redirect the turn signal and reverse wires out the control box or even the stock cars harness (though you'd need an electric relay to prevent hyper flash) and you're set.

As for brightness, it should be bright enough. I actually ordered a set of these in red that I am waiting on so I'll comment back on how bright they are.

I actually called spec D and spoke with them the tailights that you see on k2 are spec D lights and K2 is actually the direct route to spec d parts and they are usually less expensive than others

I've had mine for 6 months now. Both passenger tail light housings accumulated water in them. There is an opening in the seal at the top right corner of these where water leaks through....probably wouldn't take in as much water if the fitment wasn't crap. I went back to stockies

I have the same issue. I took the weatherguard off the stock tail lights and siliconed it on the k2's, and I put silicone in the corner openings but they still accumulate moisture on the inside of the housing. Prior to the silicone though I had my trunk flooded from an automatic car wash, luckily though I had been keeping an eye out for such an issue and caught it in time to correct it.

These tail lights looked good but never met my expectations. Poor built quality and cheap LEDs
OEM will always win
