My DDM kit lasted over a year, and I had no issues with the bulbs warming up, flickering, etc. My main reason for upgrading is for the added width of light output the HID projectors provide versus the halogen projectors. I will also be going with the Morimoto system for added reliability.

^^
Yes, wait until you see how WIDE the beam is on these projectors. You can be driving in the middle of a 4-lane highway and the entire road past the edges will be lit.

A while back when I first got the car I was using the hight beam as DRL with a cree hight power LED bulb like the one below until one of them burned out then I decided to just do the whole LED Halo instead.
I never got around to doing it...still rocking the unused 9005 bulb in the housing. I have been a bit lazy and haven't felt like doing any rewiring.

How did you go about wiring up DRLs?

Yeah it'll be awesome. I was planning on doing after the first of the year, but I may end up doing here soon. My college classes just ended yesterday, so I have some time until they start back...but I'll still need it done in a day lol

I ordered a set of the projectors from TRS on 12/12/13 and they still haven't shipped yet. TRS said they didn't have any in stock and it could take awhile to get some more in.

On a side note: I heard from a member on HIDPlanet that the RX350 shields may directly swap onto our stock projectors. He said that they fit on the Camry projectors and he believed the Camry and tC projectors may be the same. If that's true some you of guys that don't want to buy projectors can use just the shields for a better cutoff line and no squirrel spotters. Plus it'll make your projectors bi-function too. I plan to do this with the stock projectors and retrofit them into my 2001 F150.

I wonder if I started a RX350 revolution haha because it sounded like they had plenty in stock at the time when I did my retro.

Anyway man that's interesting about the shields possibly being interchangeable. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that is the case. Our projectors are in fact the same ones that are found in the Camry. That's the only reason we even found out that the RX retro was possible in the tC2. DigitalPro saw that folks were doing the RX retro in Camry's and posited that they could be the same.

I'd love to see you give it a shot. Sounds like it'll be another sticky for sure.

I was actually looking at a better shield when I modded my Halogen projectors but couldn't find any that would fit properly so I used the ones from a set of corolla ebay headlights I had laying around. These shields gave me a really sharp cutoff and a lot of blue & purple effect.

If it turns out that the shields won't fit, I can still use the solenoids from the RX350 to make the stock projectors bi-function. It will take more work but can be done.

Try making your own shields. I mada a lot of adjustments on mine untill I finally got what I wanted. Try making your own custom shields with alumminum flashing.

I was scrolling through the TRS website and noticed the RX350 projectors are now at $75.00

on the description is states "All parts are there and included, but their sub-par condition is whats preventing us from selling at their full retail price of $225/set"

I am going to grab a pair of these and retrofit myself a second pair of headlights, all they need is a clear lens and maybe some modification.

You might as well get them while they'll there. I ordered a set at full retail in mid December and still haven't received them. I've talked with TRS, and they said the RX350 is harder for them to source in the perfect condition they are looking for. I don't mind waiting, so it's no big deal for me.

December? that is wayyy to long. These are not in perfect condition but $75 is a great price.

Yeah December is a long time, but I'm not really in a position to work on right now anyway. $75 is a great price and there probably isn't much wrong with them
