All you with Descendant exhausts that have automatic....I have a q

Before you got the Descendant exhaust, have you noticed how the stock exhaust made really low frequency sound when you tried to accelerate after cruising on a highway. for example you were cruising at 65mph @2200 rpm or so and when you wanted to speed up, the engine would go in the 2500 to 3000 rpm region which would produce rather unpleasant really really low frequency sound/vibration.

The questions is do you remember that happening?/Did the descendat exhaust get rid of that?

I think the stock exhaust tone has an awesome sweet spot around 3000 to 3500 rpm. That could just be me. I haven't noticed anything unpleasant.

Looking forward to seeing responses though. I'm looking to get the Descendant soon too!

I love 3000 to 3500 as well! that's why I end up stepping harder on gas! skipping the 2500 to 3000 region! ____ that region haha http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/disgusting/vomit-3.gif

obvi the mpg goes down though http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/sad/sad-012.gif

See now you've got me curious! I'll have to take a listen tomorrow.

I paid attention and noticed exactly what you are talking about. I agree it's not a very pretty noise...kind of like the engine is struggling/getting bogged down.

tol ya!

biglilsteve 08-10-2011 06:11 PM

And I see you jumped and snagged Papa_Bear's exhaust with the quickness haha...maybe you'll be the first one to be able to answer your own question now!

ive actually heard this sound and when i was in for my last oil change had toyota take a look at it. evidently it has something to do with the alternator kicking on its not that the sound is not always there it just sound more noticeable when at the higher rpm's

my car is fully Dynamated so it helped to reduce that noise inside the cabin! http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/happy/happy-102.gif

How'd the dynamat do with exhaust noise? and road noise..

Scion202 08-12-2011 06:37 AM

exhaust is a bit quieter
road noise is 10mph quieter

I used Stingers RoadKill cuz it's cheaper and same thing. I used a thick pad for the whole floor. Footwell to under the spare
