Dual Exhaust
I was wondering if anyone has ever gone Dual Exhaust on the tC2. I'm in the process of mapping out a custom system that I will be constructing.
If you guys have any pointers/critiques they'd help a lot. If I'm to do two cats as well where should they be placed? |
there is one guy on here who has one i forgot who it was but for some reason i think it was a wedding gift or something. it looked sweet
Was his the true dual or did it have the two tips of one muffler
It's a she...manualchicktc or something like that
Custom fab from her hubby's dad Search the owners lounge for her thread |
There's also that guy Takanon in Japan. His setup is way sweeter than the chicks.

Drop is it possible to customize a true dual? I've seen that video and I love the sound!
@Justin sorry bout the mis-gendering lol ill check out her thread |
On a 4 cylinder, no. On a V6 or V8, V10, V12 you can because you have two separate exhaust banks, so you just keep the piping separate when run off the headers.
Here's a thread of dual exhaust done on the tC1: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-tc-1g-drivetrain-power-1637/tc-dual-exhaust-14774/ Like I said, split at the rear axle back portion into two to give off the look. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/pic...pictureid=3182 |
So how would doing the y-pipe work? And what about the catalytic converter?
You know of any power gains? I'm not trying to go for just looks I want it to be functional too
Example of a y-pipe installed(it's an xB), then have the piping routed to the mufflers at the corners of the bumper and have it all welded.
http://www.precisionmuffler.com/2fd74170.jpg This isn't for function, just looks. Power gains are minimal changing the exhaust. I wouldn't be worrying about HP gains on the exhaust unless going turbo, that's when the exhaust setup has more effect on power. |
Thanks man I may like my car looking good but I'm not about to waste money on something that's not fully functional
Don't spend too much time worrying about things you do to your car being fully functional. Not a single bolt-on will give you gains worth writing home about.
I don't plan on doing a bolt on I plan on a fully welded custom exhaust I know how to weld plus I'm studying to be a mechanical engineer so I figure why not
I mean that's fine and all. But its still a bolt on. And it will still give you the same underwhelming results. The only way you are getting worthwhile gains is with forced induction.
What forced induction products on the market for the tc2
Dezod, Descendant, P-Tuning each have kits out at the moment.
Where can I get one of those? And how did you fabricate the other side to allow the second tip?
Thats awesome someone over here needs to make that.
