For those of us that use the TC as a daily commuter but u want added performance to drive spiritedly and rev in and out of back road corners N/A is the way to go. Reliable and efficient. Sure 93 Oct on unichip costs more than 87 but I've gotten better MPG with the unichip so it almost evens out gas cost.
While I respect your opinion, I completely disagree. I have a turbo tC and I can say that I get an average of 35mpg as a daily driver. And there is honestly no extra maintenance. Just change the oil every 3k miles and put 93 octane gas in. The car basically takes care of itself.

I got better gas mileage with the supercharger on my tacoma too.. all depends how you drive.

Reliability is a per car basis, how it was installed/tuned/what kit.

chiming in here. Just put a Greddy EVO 3 axleback on car and was looking for the next mod to make it a bit more loud/agressive.

Does a CAI kit void the warranty (2013 and only 6 months old!)? If not, then this would be my next likely mod right?

I would go with a header before the intake, but that's just me. I think the header would sound more aggressive than CAI. For warranty issues, I would not bother. Search these forums there are plenty of threads on this particular subject matter.

Happy modding!

I guess I didn't consider headers as I didn't want to get too aggressive. The intakes seem easy and are cheaper too?

The dealership would have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the issue. If it rains often and heavy or heavy at all where you live, I would avoid cold air intakes and go for the short ram intake. My friend had a cold air intake on his car for about two years and was caught driving in a random sudden flash flood which hydrolocked his motor.

Thanks Vanity.

I like the polished Injen SRI. Know of the cheapest place to buy it? I did a search but thought easier to ask because the gurus here always seem to find the best deals!!

what about this place? 176 with free shipping?

I notice that it states 11-12. I wonder if this will fit my 2013 tC?

Thanks Vudism. Looks like Sparktec will be 191 shipped (10 off coupon code) versus 176 from VR-Speed.

I think I found a great deal?

u know. I have an injen CAI and the filter sits very high up. i've had CAI on other cars even lower than that and never had issue with water. I live in maryland... we get all kinds of weather here...

Just an FYI... also... u can convert the CAI to SRI anytime.

Hey Vudism, I'm looking to get the exact same intake as you. I'm not to concerned about water soaking either and I live in a wet climate by the mountains in Canada. Are there actual 2nd Gen tC owners complaining of this with Cold Air Intakes? or is it all hearsay?

Anyone actually read someone posting about their problems? I know a lot of you have been on these forums a lot longer than I have and I can't find anything about it affecting our cars.
