HELP TRD Cold Air Intake vs. K & N drop in filter
#2
K & N does nothing besides the fact that you wont have to replace the filter anymore, just clean it every 50k miles or so.
The TRD will be the only intake you can pass smog with, it may do something powerwise (although intakes don't really add a ton, maybe 1-2 HP), and it will probably add more sound than anything.
If you have the money, want to add a little more aggressive tone to your engine, and a little more power in the upper end of the power band, go TRD.

which is an EXPENSIVE code to get legalized, which is why most aftermarket intakes skip on it and just label their CAI as "off-road use only" (as if ur going to off road ur Scion LOL)
