How to turn Traction Control Off through all gears..
#21
Actually, the correct way to disable traction control and the VSC is to be stopped and then hold the "Trac Off" button for approximately 5 seconds. Then you will see that the "Trac Off" light and the VSC off light will come on. This will disable the TCS and the VCS until you get WAY out of shape, but the TCS will stay off.
I drive a 6 speed 2nd Gen. So, there is a correct way to do it without having to do all the resetting of the ems and taking the maf in and out.

wait wait wait. so i know that holding down the trac control at a stop for 5 sec will keep it off even if you go above 30, but the part about the auto not upshifting when in "S" can not be accomplished by just doing the above mentioned. so if you do what OP said it will not upshift in S mode on its own???

Yes! Hold down the trac off button until the second light on the dash comes on. You should have a 'trac off' and a light with a car with skidmarks. You have to be at a dead stop and also repeat this every time the car is shut off. But the other way you guys are talking about stores codes in the PCM. Then if you take it to the dealer for anything, if they hook up the scanner they will show a repeated maf sensor failure. Using the trac off button is the safest and easiest route to go!
