It could possibly be a bent valve if its slappen but it could also be a plugged cat toyotas are famous for plugged cats it takes all the torque away and bogs the engine down and will cause a drowning noise in your exhaust

Mmm.... no. Not buying it. No other motors do this and missing a shift in those vehicles don't cause any issues you know. Might just be an excuse.

Guy, this isn't relevant. What advice are you giving, and to who? This thread is all caught up on the issues. It's the all-famous rocker issue.

I checked the compression it's perfect across the board I put the rocker back in place and it started ticking so I am going to replace the lifter and the rocker hopefully that eliminates the tick.

Figured out the problem took me a while to notice the valve keeper was missing. I ordered one

I was wondering the same thing when you said it was missing... Hopefully it just made its way to the bottom of the sump without getting stuck elsewhere.

So got it all fixed up and running and legal. Only issue I could find was some times you could hear a little bit of chatter from the engine. Then as days past now when I come to a stop with the clutch in it will idle for a bit then stall out. Anyone have any idea what might be causing the stalling issue.
