Performance Chips
I have been thinking about buying a performance chip for my 2011 tC but am undecided. It only costs about $70 and it claims to add up to 80 HP and add 8MPG and they claim that it does not void the warranty nor is it harmful to the car. Has anyone else tried a chip before and if so, did you like it or dislike it and does it actually give the car the gains they claim? Any help would be nice!
They are full of crap. All those chips do is manipulate the MAF sensor reading, making the ECU run the engine leaner. Yes you make pick up a few h.p. and a few mpg but no where near their claims. Not worth it. If I am not mistaken, those chips are nothing but a resistor. The only way you will see those kinds of gains is with forced induction, complete engine build up and NOS.
There are a lot better options out there for increasing performance than those chips. The NST pulley being the best bang for buck mod imo. $150 will buy you one and is dyno proven to free up 20 h.p. that is already there by reducing drivetrain weight.

I sell headlight fluid. Will make your headlights 100 times brighter and make hot chicks appear out of thin air. Only 19.99. And if you call now We will throw in a second bottle for free you only pay a separate processing fee. But all kidding aside Blackedout is right its bull save your cash.

Hence why I said CLAIMS to add and thats why I was asking the question because I didn't figure it actually did much of anything but I figured I would ask if anyone else has tried it. Who knows, it may have. But thanks for the help.
