Default RPM on idle

I noticed the rpm needle moves slightly up very slowly then back down during idle. I made sure for flooor matt is not on the gas pedal or anything.

Is this normal?

Hey dude, this is a common problem thing with any car that has a small engine. Do you have the AC on or the windscreen heater on? and also just for future reference just search this first as there have been tons of posts about this.

Its about 6 degrees Celsius so I don't have any AC or heat on. It doesn't happen to my other cars with smaller engines so I thought something was wrong with this one.

Totally normal. Definitely does not seem normal, so we understand your concern, however this is absolutely normal.

NO!!! NOT NORMAL!!! DON'T DRIVE YOUR CAR!!! IT COULD RUN AWAY FROM YOU AT ANY MOMENT CAUSING UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION!!!!!

jk, it is normal. All my cars have times when their idle goes up a hundred or two RPMs above normal and goes back down. My 2005 Scion tC did, my 2007 BMW 335i did and so does my 2013 Scion FR-S.
