2014 tC 2.5 Turbo kit?
Hey guys does anyone have any information about boosting the 2014 tC 2.5. I just picked up a new one last week with 2 miles on it and looking to boost it as well as find a good exhaust. Problem is I can't find anything or anyone that has done it yet. Is everything the same exhaust wise ? I know they engine is the same 1 hp less but not sure if the pips would be laid out as the same as the 2011-2013. Help is much appreciated. Need to get this thing rolling. Looking to probably go with Ptuning or Dezod.

Be sure to make a thread and post some pics if you do it. My 14 would be boosted a long time ago if i had the cash right now. Maybe next summer :).

You could be using this break in period to also break in a new clutch. Once you go boost, that stock clutch will only handle but so long.

Well let be break everyone hearts. I live in NOVA where traffic is horrible. Takes 3 hours to get home when you live only 45 mins away. That being said I have an auto. So looks like ill be looking at level 10 or who ever else makes upgrades for the auto trans.
|
I am a little leary about some of the built autos for the tC2. I have seen products come out of both Level 10 and IPT fail. Supposedly this is because there way of adjusting the TQ maps for the trans. A standalone trans controller is really needed when it gets to that level of the game. No fun!
|
I am only shooting for 280 to 300hp. Figured that should be enough for some fun. I think stock Trans with cooler should do the job. What do you think. Maybe value upgrade later on down the road.

Yes instead of buying a turbo kit for 5k just selling it n buy a 60k challenger. Wtf like really ????
|
If you want the best, you'll have to pay for it. Rather than piecing together part after part, which you'll be hard pressed to get anything more than 260hp out of your Scion no matter how many tens of thousands of dollars you stick into it, why not just pay once to get 3+ times the power? Wtf like really???

Ummmm ptuning and dezod both have kits that provide around 300 wheel horsepower. More at the motor. Kits cost less than 5k and come with everything you need. So I don't know where you get 10s of thousand. Later on can build your block at dezod and get around 500 at the wheel. They also make clutch and tranny internal kit. Do your research.
Or spend like 15000 all in and build the motor with 1arfe crank with custom rods which strokes it to 2.7l and do some head work and push 6-700 whp like hankook did to there drift tc. |
Not to mention this is scion forum. Guy didn't come here for suggestions on what car to remortgage his house on.
|
You know there are a whole lot cheaper ways to get 300hp in a car than your current method anyway. The Subaru WRX is probably the cheapest way to get there. Get one used that is a couple years old ($16-$18K to start with 268hp from the get go) and then you can bump that up to 430 or a bit more with aftermarket additions.
