Default My Dezod Turbo Kit!

It's been a while since I've posted, but figured I'd share my latest endeavor.

Purchased a turbo kit for my manual tC2. A buddy of mine owns a shop here in town and did the install for me. I'm usually down for doing the mods myself, but wanted a professional to do this on, since it's pretty serious stuff. We did the tune this week and I'm thoroughly impressed with the product and results!

The "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" shot...

My numbers are with a stock exhaust, so I'm hoping that after I get the 3" exhaust from Dezod and an updated tune, I'll get to be one of the cool kids in the 300+ club

The kit came with everything you need to get it going. I did pick up an AEM boost gauge and wideband as well.

I've never done something this drastic to any of my cars before, but I'm glad I decided to rock the Dezod product. Paul has been a badass with his help and guidance for me as I venture off into the world of forced induction.

I'm impressed with how well put together everything is as well, though it shouldn't be such a surprise, since I had the green header from them and it was just as solid.

Big thanks to you, Paul, and the rest of the staff at Dezod. The service and products you provide are second to none!!

Not sure if I'm posting this right, but here's a quick clip of one of my dyno pulls. Sorry for the shakiness and this one will be pulled down, once I put together a better set of clips. I just wanted to get one up for now.

Haven't had a chance to do a lot of take offs to see how launching goes. Wanted to get tuned before mashing it too much.

The S pipe that comes with the Dezod kit has 3 bungs. 2 for factory sensors and one for wideband.

Yeah I know I found it on dezods site but it also comes with a down pipe which I don't need and apparently since I'm not buying a full dezod kit they won't sell me an s pipe not sure who's running there business but makes no since to me but that's fine all the more reason to go to ptuning or descendant

Our downpipe/s-pipe combo has 3 bungs in it. 2 for factory O2 sensors and another for your wideband O2.

You are mistaken, and allow to me clarify this once and for all because I am sure that many others will have similar questions.

Ok. To put this as simple as anyone can understand, the turbo location (dictated by the manifold design) determines downpipe geometry. This simply means that where the manifold places the turbo, dictates the downpipe bends etc. Pretty simple!

So, when comparing 2-3 turbo manifold designs. All though each may look the same in location, they are not and are actually worlds difference. Unless the manifolds where made in the same jigged location, the downpipes will all have their own geometry dependent upon the turbo placement on the manifold.

Consequently, our downpipe/s-pipe combo are made to mate to one another (in the front half of the s-pipe, hence the v-band connection) Note your stock is not v-band connected. The rear of the s-pipe can connect to stock or anything stock replacement which is why it has the saddle seat for the ball and socket assembly like factory.

So, this is why we can not sell you just the s-pipe. Because it only fits our manifold and downpipe arrangement. It's not that we don't want to sell it to you, but more of the fact that it will not fit without fab work and/or modification on your part. You're looking for a bolt-on piece that ours is not.

Understand?

Have an excellent holiday gang! See you Jan 2, 2013.
