Alpine radio / USB?

I just got the alpine radio installed and am curious. Does the USB function as an iPod control...or can I only use a USB memory stick filled with mp3s..thankx

It works for anything that plugs into the USB port. iPod, thumb drive, my Droid X

alpine hu reads only 100 files max from a folder from a usb flash drive. organize accordingly

for me, only the oem apple cables seem to work. my knock-off ipod cables from ebay work on my laptop but not in the car. you try bunching it up and using a zip-tie to shorten the wire?
