Question Is anyone planning on installing the “OEM AUDIO PLUS”

I was looking around on the Scion website and saw this as a factory installed option – here is some more information
http://www.oemaudioplus.com/audio-systems/audio-upgrade-scion-tC.html
What do you guys think about this? Any good? Scion wants $1400 for it installed. Does any one have one installed? Is anyone planning on getting it and installing it? From the installation instructions, this kit replaces the OEM amp too…check it out

Info…comments…all welcome!

I had the chance to listen to the system just a few days ago. It sounded great, but for that much money, I'm not sure it's worth it. I spent a couple hundred bucks on my sub set up and I prefer that over the $1400.

KidJustin has a whole thread about this floating around here somewhere. What it boils down to is, have you heard it and how deep are your pockets?

I'm not sure if KidJustin was sponsored by them, but he's been to their shop, heard the system, etc, etc.

what do u guys want to know specifically?

i'm not sponsored...but i am a big supporter and they recognize it. i'm basically friends now with the team

the sound...
its like a complete home theater system in the tC2. tunes are perfect for the cabin...better than stock
sound/bass is distributed throughout all the speakers and the added sub in the hatch..this reduces the dreaded rattle in the door (fixed by a piece of paper) issue

the setup...
everything is plug and play, easy to install, and light weight
u can have the dealer install it or DIY...if u DIY everything is included except a rivet gun
this system is more for those that want something that is a complete kit...something where all the research has been done already
...if u like to full customize every aspect and tune everything, this would NOT be the system for you

the price...
in my opinion it is too much...its an expensive product
...but is it worth it?...YES
the extra cost basically is their work/research. the Carbon Fiber speakers/sub with amp are all tuned specifically to work harmoniously with each other, the stock HU, and with the cabin design of the tC2

...theres a lot of back and forth between this system. so any questions i'll try my best to answer it..if not i can ask them

My first question would be that on their website it has their package listed for the 2012 tC but would it also be compatible with the 2011? I would imagine it would be but thought you might know.

*EDIT* Just kidding, found it:

1399 is for the system only, dealer install is separate (personally i'd just go DIY)

the website is somewhat limited, its only like the second time they officially updated (completely new look)...and its just been a few days. i get most of my info from when i talked to them previously or ask them on FB, they usually respond quickly and honestly

No it will not work the same. It uses an external sound processor that is specifically tuned for the vehicles stock head unit. KidJustin is working with them now to see if it can be tuned to his 4300DVD.

just an update...it works with the 4300DVD...just have the EQ on flat and they just need to make a slight adjustment to the amp. just contact them on what aftermarket HU u have or plan to get

once i get my system (next month hopefully) i will update again on this

glad u liked it! i was talkin with one of the guys today and telling them how hard it is to explain to people on the forum that havent heard it. there are only few people on this forum in socal for them to reach...so being at scion exposed n letting people outside of CA hear it is a great thing for them

I would put money down that my system sounds much better than theirs. I'm not talking about loudness, I'm talking about quality.

OK…elaborate…What is your setup and what did it cost you? Don’t just make empty statements…back it up.

There is nothing different about my empty statement than OEM Audio Plus doing the same by not even providing specifications to the speakers they sell on their website. No different than Bose.

All of my speakers have a very detailed spec sheet. You just won't find any of that on Oem Audio Plus.

Come on, they aren't charging $1400 just for the hell of it. I'm sure it sounds phenomenal and better than just about anything you could put together yourself for less than $1400.

A system consisting of a few swapped speakers and maybe a sub and some amps isn't going to come close to competing with OEM Audio+, so don't bother making such claims.

The only thing you can do is to decide if the $1400 is worth it.

You still didn’t say what is in your system nor what you paid for it. Is this a secret?

I got a chance to see and hear this setup first hand this past weekend. It sounds amazingly good. I can't say if its worth 1400 but thats all relative. Personally, Id do it if I was picking up a tC2 because you won't need to add anything else. The speakers are very clean.

IMHO...

$1400 is EXPENSIVE...agreed

but is the system and the work they put into it worth that amount? DAMN STRAIGHT IT IS

so please, enlighten us on ur magical system and its costs
...remember to include any costs incurred for things like labor or research&design

also, as far as their details on the website....they have personally told me that their website is not up to snuff to give enough justice to the system. the best way to know the product is to hear it. they are a company that is starting up...but have already made great strides because their product is just that good. for a group of guys, with a tuned ear for audio....they made it officially on scion.com http://www.scion.com/#/tC-accessorie...oem-audio-plus

can u say the same for your system?
