Nope. Just the same license plate rattle that was there when I was running 2 10's in MDF boxes. Although it is not noticeable unless you're outside of the car when the bass is up.

I got a pretty simple fix for that. Picked up a bunch of self sticking foam from walmart. I have a bunch left. I just lined the rear edges of the plate, and all along the inside of the frame. Send me your address in a PM and I will mail ya a sheet. I know your not that far from me, but a 2hr drive to give you a piece of foam is out of the question!

I'm going to finish my box ahead of time so I'm going to go ahead and see what the demand for these boxes is like. If you want to buy one, or a set, please send me a PM. First come first serve, so whoever PMs me first will get the first service. I can paint or upholster these. Because of the contour of the back of the subs, if you want an upholstered one, it will have an upholstered face, but gel-coated or painted back. Painted boxes will be a little more expensive than upholstered ones.

cost of materials + cost of your time = price

i personally dont know how much time it would take you to produce 1 or 2 depending on the order but make sure the money you are making is worth you time. JL audio charges $550 for theirs but that comes loaded with a $260 W3 in it. So they are charging 290 for just the enclosure.

Custom fabricators can charge anywhere from $150-
$250 per enclosure. And those are simple MDF boxes. I wouldn't feel bad breaking the $300 mark for custom fiberglass. Don't forget to factor in the cost to properly package and ship them as well.

$30 for resin and hardener (I use more hardener than the gallon comes with), $10 for body filler, $20 for mat, $6 on brushes, $2 or so on disposable gloves, $10 on respirator cartridges, $6 on adhesive, $10 on upholstery material, $5 for different sandpapers $15 other stuff (MDF for the speaker ring, denatured alcohol, wooden dowels to mount it, glue sticks for mounting it, wear on tools like cut off wheels for dremmel to trim speaker ring), $3 tack cloths.

Looks like $99 though I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Is that $100 in materials for one box or both?

Both, though it's realistically $75 per box with tax and stuff I forgot like plastic spreaders for the body filler, mold release wax, painters tape, etc...

Haha ok I was about to say! You need to get your materials from somewhere else!

How long does it take to make a set of boxes? Not the first set, but to use the mold you have now and make a duplicate set?
The total time to make them, and prep time and clean up as seperate numbers.

For example:

Prep - x mins
Creating - y hours
Clean up - z mins

I'm not sure. I'm going to record my hours on the first set I make to sell and we'll see.

Without knowing how many hours it's hard to say, but just judging by the already semi established market, I'd charge probably between $250-275. $300 might be pushing it because you don't have the name brand or the warranty to back it up or the past sales

Yeah. I'm not trying to rush making these. I will make the first set, send them out and wait for feedback and comments before starting to make another set.
