Dash rattle..
Tried to add to existing thread but it did not bring it back to the top of page.
My 2013 tC has a clicking noise above 45 mph coming from top pass. side of the dash, regardless of blower speed, any advice? *Moved to Correct Forum by Administrator Sticky Where to Post Your Question __________________ |
Check your heating/air fan wheel for debris.

Can turn the blower off, and still have the noise over 45.
|
Does the noise get any worse in a hard turn?
|
I,ll check for that, havent noticed. Seems like you can put your hand on top of the dash and feel it.
|
I'm just wondering if it's chassis noise coming through the dash or noise in the dash itself.

There is a small piece of rubber trim at the top of windsheild thats sticking up slightly, about 1 inch long. Ive seen rubber strips make a noise, will have to silicone down.

I think I remember reading about rubber trim between the windshield and sunroof coming apart and having to be replaced. Maybe you caught yours in time to fix it.

Oh my gawddd that top strip on the windshield is super annoying if it's not 100% glued down. Mine only (used to) rattle at highway speeds if it was above 100 outside, but in Phoenix that's pretty much year round. That definitely sounds like it's coming from the top of the shield/rear view mirror though.
Cutlass you anywhere near Phoenix? I'm pretty good at diagnosing rattles lol. #bigstereoequalsbigrattleproblems TBH though the most annoying interior thing I've noticed are the damn seats, they rattle like crazy. I had to 3m tape all the plastics and put about 10 zip ties per seat to keep them silent. |
So I ran into this years ago on a ford van. The rubber strip accross the top of the windsheild was unglued for about an inch and sticking up slightly. Siliconed it and put a weight on top. Fixed the prob. Thanks
